Ptosis is a condition in which the upper eyelid droops abnormally over the eye, partially or completely covering it. It can affect one or both eyes, and in severe cases may interfere with vision.
Often referred to as “droopy eyelids,” ptosis may have congenital, muscular, neurological, or age-related causes. In some instances, it can also indicate an underlying condition that requires medical evaluation.
Ophthalmic surgery includes a range of procedures designed to correct refractive errors or improve eye health, mainly by reshaping the cornea or replacing the lens.
