Astigmatism

What is
Astigmatism?

Astigmatism is a visual defect that occurs when the cornea or the lens has an irregular curvature. Instead of being evenly rounded, like a basketball, it takes on a more oval shape, similar to a football.

This uneven surface prevents light from focusing correctly on the retina, causing blurred or distorted vision at any distance. Astigmatism may appear on its own or in combination with other refractive errors such as myopia or hyperopia.

RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE:

Excimer Laser

The Excimer Laser is a high-precision procedure that safely and effectively treats astigmatism. By applying cool ultraviolet light pulses, the laser reshapes the cornea so that light rays focus correctly on the retina. This treatment can reduce or even eliminate dependence on glasses or contact lenses, offering a long-lasting solution for clearer vision.
